Pirate Boot Socks
Toe Up Sock Pattern with Dorset Button InstructionsThis is a pattern for a pair of Pirate Boot Socks. The socks come with a chart to make small to large sizes depending on your foot size. They are knitting using Aran weight wool (I've used Beaker Button Aran Sock in the example). They are toe up socks knitted on 4 double pointed needles.
This pattern would be suitable for someone with some knitting experience.
Tension: 5cm x 5cm square = 12sts x 16 rows in stocking stitch knitted in the round. Materials: 200g Beaker Button Aran, set of 5 x 4mm double pointed needles and a 4mm single pointed needle, yarn needle for sewing in ends, 6 Dorset buttons 1.6cm across. Instructions for these below. You will need 6 closed rings 1.6cm across and 8m of 4ply thread/yarn (1.2m per button). You will also need a blunt needle. You may want a stitch marker to keep track of the start of the round. All Beaker Button patterns come with Dorset button instructions so you can learn this fabulous traditional craft with a modern twist.
